Originally from rural Wales, Lee spent seven years in the Army (Royal Signals) before setting his sights on a career in accountancy. After gaining experience as a partner at Mazars, Lee joined BKL in 2014. He became our CEO in 2020.

Under Lee’s leadership, BKL has grown at all levels and in all service areas. We have also shown our commitment to responsible business by becoming a Certified B Corporation and establishing a charitable foundation. Following private equity investment from CBPE in 2023, Lee is working closely with BKL’s Board and wider leadership team to ensure that as BKL expands, we have an even greater impact on our clients, our people & culture and our communities.

In his role as CEO, Lee applies the same pragmatic insight and emphasis on thorough planning that he has used when working with clients. Lee keeps everyone at BKL informed through regular video updates, with an open invitation for any colleague to join him as a guest interviewer.

Away from work, Lee enjoys playing golf, supporting Welsh rugby and keeping fit.

With a background in audit and years advising across complex structures, Alex helps clients navigate everything from regulatory hurdles to commercial negotiations. Working closely with colleagues in our accounts and business Services team and across specialists across BKL, Alex ensures they feel informed, protected, and personally looked after.

Whether it’s launching a fintech across borders or managing the finances of a Premier League footballer, Alex’s focus is always the same: clarity, discretion, and exceptional service.

Alex’s expertise also covers consumer electronics, children’s toys, entertainment, music publishing and property development.

After joining Wilson Wright in 2014, Alex progressed to director in 2023. He joined BKL’s ABS team when our two firms merged in 2024.

In 2025, Alex was a winner of the Accountancy Age 35 Under 35, highlighting rising stars within the accountancy profession.

Away from work, Alex enjoys trips to the cinema and to watch Arsenal play.

She advises fast‑growing and regulated organisations navigating complex FCA requirements, including payment service providers, EMIs, brokers, wealth managers, private equity funds and B2B lenders. Alisha is particularly well known for supporting businesses to prepare for and successfully undergo CASS 15 audits, working closely with boards and senior management to strengthen safeguarding arrangements, governance frameworks and internal controls.

Alisha also supports firms applying for or extending FCA authorisation for payment services and e‑money. Her work includes designing safeguarding models, compliant payment flows and client money structures that align with regulatory expectations, as well as advising on ongoing regulatory reporting and audit readiness. She has additional experience supporting overseas firms establishing UK‑regulated operations.

She holds the ICA Certificate in Governance, Risk and Compliance, which is particularly relevant for firms facing increased regulatory scrutiny or preparing for authorisation. Having started her career at BKL as a trainee, Alisha has played a key role in developing the firm’s financial services offering.

Her achievements include winning Bronze at the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2024, being named in the Accountancy Age 35 Under 35, and reaching the finals for Breakout Star of the Year at the Accounting Excellence Awards 2024.

Outside of work, Alisha enjoys spending time with her husband and their two ragdoll cats.

Having previously worked for a Big 4 and a large accountancy firm, he has extensive experience of advising both large international and owner managed businesses on corporate transactions including buying, selling and reorganising a business.

For much of his career he has had a strong focus on real estate, advising property groups, property investment funds and other property owners on structuring their transactions. He is the author of the 5th edition of the textbook “Taxation of Land Transactions” and a member of the CIOT Property Taxes committee. Like Anthony Newgrosh, Andrew has contributed to the Tax Journal “Ask an Expert” column.

Andrew loves working with clients to find solutions to their business and tax issues. When not immersed in tax, he enjoys hill walking, playing tennis and spending time with his family.

Anthony qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 and became a principal of FSPG Chartered Accountants in 2004. He became a partner at BKL when our two firms merged in 2022.

In his spare time, Tony spends his time with his family. He is also an avid armchair sportsman and works as a volunteer for local charities.
