David prides himself on a pragmatic and solution driven approach, with an ability to make complex accounting concepts understandable and directly relevant to clients.

His specialisms include:
  • IFRS/UK GAAP accounting advisory
  • Accounting policies and controls
  • IFRS impact assessments, implementation and GAAP conversion exercises
  • Financial reporting compliance

    Working in senior roles at FTSE-listed financial services organisations, David has advised on the accounting impact of complex corporate reorganisations and acquisitions. David has also led finance and project teams through IFRS conversion projects and new IFRS implementation projects, including IFRS 9, 15 & 16, as well as advising on post-implementation controls and processes. David also has worked closely with Special Purpose Acquisition Company (“SPAC”) vehicles, advising on a number of judgemental areas including complex financial instruments and reverse acquisition accounting. David also keeps internal colleagues up to date on the latest accounting developments and pronouncements.

    David has worked in both England and Northern Ireland. He has a certificate in Customs & Trade through Chartered Accountants Ireland and has guided clients through post-Brexit changes to import/export processes.

    More recently, David contributed to CFPro’s leading reputation as a trusted partner to growing businesses with strategic goals. He joined BKL in 2023 when CFPro became part of BKL.

    Away from work, David enjoys spending time with his young family, and a very occasional round of golf.
