‘From my work experience placement I was hoping to achieve an understanding of how an accountancy firm operates on a day-to-day basis and what is would be like working in an accountancy office every day.
On my placement the specific task I was allocated was a bank reconciliation, I really enjoyed the challenge of completing this task and seeing at the end whether the business was profitable.
I learnt many key things whilst at BKL one of which was how to do a bank reconciliation and develop key skills in using Microsoft Excel. Another key skill learnt is that you need to be flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask.
The highlights of my placement included meeting new people who gave me a lot of helpful advice for my future and of course it was very interesting to see from the bank reconciliation which companies made a profit and by how much.’
