Budget 2017: our coverage

Publications

The rumours are true: it’s Budget time again. With the Autumn Statement less than four months ago, it’s taken a rigorous training regime to get us in shape. But we’re ready.

Here’s how we’ll be giving Budget 2017 full coverage. We’ll be adding more links to this page so please check back for updates.

Before

Using our knowledge of the tax landscapes for property, business and private clients, we’ve put together our top ten speculations about the Budget. We also considered the Budget in our recent blog posts on the 2017/18 business rates revaluation and diesel pollution.

During

As Philip Hammond brings us the Budget on Wednesday 8 March, we’ll be sharing live updates on our Twitter page. You’re welcome to follow us if you haven’t already.

After

As well as posting our usual Budget summary and analysis, we hosted a free webinar on Thursday 9 March. Our tax specialists shared their perspectives on Chancellor’s announcements and dissected exactly what they mean for you and your business. If you couldn’t make it, you can catch up via the BKL YouTube channel.

We also put together a graphic to give you a quick breakdown of the Budget’s key points.

BKL tax partner Jon Fursdon wrote about the Budget for Tax Journal. His article is titled Spring Budget 2017: The impact on SMEs.

Following this week’s NIC announcement from the Chancellor, we’ve written a Budget 2017 update for our blog.

Finally, we’ve heard that there’s another 2017 Budget coming this autumn. Time for more training.
