Duncan Hardy, BKL’s Group Chief Digital Officer, was a keynote speaker at The Alternative Accountancy Strategic IT Conference on 27-28 April 2023.

Duncan has over 20 years’ experience in senior IT leadership roles within both SMEs and FTSE 100 multinationals. He brings first-hand opinions and perspectives from a range of sectors including education, defence, manufacturing and professional services. He joined BKL as our CDO in 2019.
In his keynote speech on Day One of The Alternative Accountancy Strategic IT Conference, Duncan outlined how BKL is managing cybersecurity risk. He focused on what we’re doing to minimise potential damage and loss and how we’re taking action to minimise the possibility of any future breaches.
In the afternoon, Duncan led a roundtable discussion on what Power Query, Power Automate and Power BI can do for accountancy practices.
On Day Two, Duncan spoke about making digital sustainable: creating a balance between user experience, business goals, and environmental initiatives. As one of the growing number of midsized B Corps in the accountancy sector, environmental impact (the E in ESG) is especially important to us. We were recently certified as a carbon neutral business.
Day One of this conference coincided with Day Two of The Alternative Accountancy Management Summit which featured our CEO Lee Brook as a keynote speaker.
