According to the report, 62% of women want to start their own businesses. Of those who already own businesses, 84% want to scale up within the next two years, and 44% have identified a gap in the market
69% fund their own businesses through personal savings or remortgaging
Only 4% have angel investment, 3% receive a loan from a bank, and 2% get access to venture capital investment
All of these findings point to the opportunities for advisers and investors to serve female entrepreneurs, and the benefit to those entrepreneurs of having trusted advisers – setting themselves up for growth early on to ensure long-term success
