AI’s Impact on Business: A Conversation for Leaders

Events & Webinars

Thanks to everyone who joined our breakfast roundtable to discuss the latest trends and challenges surrounding AI’s role in business, leadership and company culture.

Our Chief Digital Officer Duncan Hardy co-hosted this event alongside the Chairman and CEO of ScultureAI: a tech startup developing innovative solutions for shaping organisational culture.

We discussed:

  • AI automation: it’s just the beginning
  • Leading in the AI era
  • The role of AI in employee engagement and culture

Hosts:

  • Duncan Hardy – Chief Digital Officer at BKL
  • Andrew Rashbass – Co-Founder and Chairman at ScultureAI
  • Elie Rashbass – Co-Founder and CEO of ScultureAI

What’s blocking AI adoption in companies today?

Here are the six biggest blockers that came up in the discussion:

  • Unproven ROI – AI adoption stalls when companies can’t clearly see the return on investment. Is “cool” enough, or does AI need to prove it can deliver more value than alternative investments?
  • Lack of AI education – Many organisations don’t fully understand AI, leading to fear, misconceptions, and slow adoption. How do we bridge the knowledge gap?
  • Poor user experience (UX) – AI tools can be complex or intimidating. Even ChatGPT, despite its simplicity, was described by some participants as a “blank canvas” that some find daunting. Does AI need a UX revolution?
  • Weak software support – AI tools don’t yet match the robustness of traditional enterprise software, particularly in onboarding and support. Is AI too immature for the enterprise?
  • Hype obscuring value – With so many vendors jumping on the AI bandwagon, it’s hard to separate what truly drives value from what’s just noise. Are we lost in the hype?
  • Lack of trust – From hallucinations to regulatory fears, many hesitate to adopt AI due to risk concerns. In heavily regulated industries, people’s number-one job is to make sure they don’t break the system—AI feels like a potential liability.
