Getting to know Geeta Morgan: a chat with our Audit and Financial Services Partner

Publications

Geeta Morgan joined us in 2023 as an audit partner in our financial services team. We sat down with Geeta to learn more about her first year at BKL and what it means to her to support ambitious clients in fintech and beyond.

Why Accounting?

“I’ve always been fascinated by how businesses work,” Geeta explains. “Accountants are like business superheroes, helping owners navigate challenges, achieve their goals and make a real difference.

We help people to meet goals and achieve their purpose. I’m particularly drawn to the energy and innovation of the fintech world. It’s inspiring to work with entrepreneurs who are solving societal problems.

I feel privileged to be an accountant – I wouldn’t change it!”

A Broad Range of Expertise

Beyond fintechs and e-money institutions (EMIs), Geeta works with clients across the financial services sector, and many large hotel and retail businesses.

“I love learning and challenging myself – so I’ve started studying for a CISA qualification, a globally recognised certification for IS audit control, assurance and security professionals.”

This course will help build on Geeta’s experience in auditing and provide additional skills to help identify vulnerabilities, report on compliance and introduce controls.

BKL: A Culture of Growth and Support

“Everyone here has something valuable to offer, and there’s a genuine desire to help each other succeed.

I’m proud to be part of a team that’s nurturing the next generation of accountants. Seeing our trainees develop into confident professionals is incredibly rewarding.

Our capability and expertise continue to grow. It’s been great to see more and more fintech clients choosing to work with BKL. I learn a lot from the other partners and from the team. There’s so much technical expertise. I work from the office every day and because of the people, I love it.”

Building Strong Client Relationships

Geeta highlights the focus on relationships across BKL. “It’s about understanding our clients’ goals and helping them achieve those goals. We’re not just completing audits and filing returns; we’re partners in their success.

BKL’s recent expansion has given us an even broader range of expertise. The finance and governance specialists who joined us from CFPro can guide businesses through M&As, sales and IPOs; the team from Landau Baker are academies and schools specialists; the team from Alan Heywood & Co are experts in music, media, sport and entertainment; and the Wilson Wright team at our City of London office have brought so many specialisms, particularly in tax. Our clients have access to all this expertise.”

A Passion for People

“BKL are members of the Asian-Jewish Business Network (AJBN) who do great work bringing communities together. I’m a branch president for Toastmasters International, a not-for-profit educational organisation that builds and teaches public speaking skills through a worldwide network. Toastmasters has 270,000 members in more than 14,000 clubs in 150 countries.

But my passion is my work. When I’m talking to clients, helping them solve problems and plan, I’m in my zone.

BKL is the perfect place for me to do that.”
