Our Chief People Officer Greg McCaw spoke at d&i Leaders’ webinar on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) on 18 January.
‘Nobody said the role of leading DEI in organisations is an easy task. It requires equal measures of skill, knowledge and resilience to create the sustainable change we aspire to. It also requires the time to take a step back and take stock of what has come before and what is yet to come, which is not an easy task when the expectations of us as well as the ‘to do’ list are ever expanding.
Marie Antoinette apparently said ‘there is nothing new except what has been forgotten’ which is particularly true when organisations are in search of the ‘new shiny initiative’ that will solve all of their DEI issues – which can feel that it’s all resting on our shoulders.
To get 2024 off to the right start, we’ll be gaining the insights of seasoned DEI professionals on what the past can tell us about the future trends for our role as well as the wider DE&I topic more generally. During our time together, we will explore:
- What past trends can tell us about what may be on the horizon for 2024 onwards
- How our role and priorities should be evolving
- How we ensure we have the right skills, knowledge and resilience to step into 2024′
Greg’s insights come from over a decade of experience. His diverse background spans DEI (also referred to as (DE&I), employer brand, culture and communication. He has led successful initiatives in both private equity and as a FTSE 100 leader.
Speaking alongside Greg at this webinar were:
- Charlotte Sweeney OBE – Inclusion, Diversity & Equality Specialist
- Pauline Miller – Chief Equity Officer, EMEA, dentsu international
