Richard comes to BKL from Big Four firm Deloitte. For the past 17 years, he was their Cambridge partner focused on privately owned businesses, fostering long-term relationships particularly in food, agriculture and real estate. BKL expanded into the Cambridge market through its merger with leading local firm Ashcroft Anthony in 2015.

BKL’s Cambridge office is growing at manager level too, with three additions. Sam Parish worked with Richard at Deloitte and is joining BKL to focus on owner-managed businesses, especially those in the agricultural sector. Andrew Diplock has worked for Cambridge accountancy firms for ten years, providing advice to local and London-based clients. Lindsay House was also a colleague of Richard’s at Deloitte, where she held a senior role in their tax management consultancy team.

Richard said, “Being part of BKL is an exciting opportunity. It punches well above its weight in acting for individuals and families who own properties or businesses, and for many entrepreneurs too. It has a strong ‘can do’ attitude. I’m looking forward to working together with my new colleagues to help deliver the firm’s expertise and excellence across a broad range of client services.”

Jeff Hartstone, BKL’s managing partner, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Richard to BKL. His considerable experience – along with Sam, Andrew and Lindsay’s – will strengthen our presence in Cambridge. As our tenth partner-level appointment in two years, Richard and his expertise will support our continued growth, enabling us to make a greater difference to even more clients.”
