James is a Senior Manager in BKL’s Accounting & Business Services team, working with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed and fast-growth businesses. With experience across a broad range of sectors, including Retail, Construction & Property, Technology and Family Investment Companies, he brings both technical expertise and a genuine interest in the stories behind the businesses he supports.
What drives James is understanding people: learning about their goals, what success looks like for them, and helping shape the financial and commercial outcomes that move their business forward. For him, it’s always about building strong, lasting relationships with clients and the key people around them.
His work spans accounts and corporation tax compliance, bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT returns, new incorporations and full start-up compliance. Before joining BKL, James trained and qualified at a top 75 mid-tier firm before moving to London to take on more complex and challenging client engagements. His professional achievements include being voted DFK EMEA Emerging Leader of the Year and being named in Accountancy Age’s 35 Under 35 (2024).
Outside of work, James is a record collector and avid live music fan. He’s also a keen golfer, gym-goer and someone who enjoys staying active.
