‘Figures released by the Land Registry have revealed that the growing divide in property prices has continued to escalate.
House prices in Kensington & Chelsea rose by nearly 12.5% – £118,754 – over the past year. By comparison, the average home in the North East, the cheapest area of the country, is worth £99,294, and in the North West it is £106,527.
Overall, house prices rose by 1% month-on-month in January to an average of £162,441 in England and Wales. Homes in London rose by an average of 7.1% over the past year, while in the North West prices slumped by 4.2% over the same period.’
