Emma is our Head of Tax Operations and leads the transaction tax team at BKL.
Applying her deep knowledge of personal and business tax, Emma works with owner managed businesses at every stage of their lifecycle. She advises on a wide variety of commercial issues including:
- Restructuring corporate groups (domestically and internationally)
- Mergers & acquisitions (M&A)
- Incentivising and keeping key members of staff – enterprise management incentive schemes (EMI) and enterprise investment schemes (EIS)
- Attracting external investment
She has particular experience in the technology, media, recruitment and pharmaceutical industries, including one of the UK’s first cryptocurrency acquisitions.
Through her pragmatic commercial advice, Emma prioritises clients’ best interests. Her attention to detail, and her skill at explaining complex technical matters, make her a trusted and reassuring adviser.
As Head of Tax Operations, Emma oversees the running of the combined tax team across all of our offices, covering a huge range of expertise in personal, corporate and international taxes.
Emma is a member of two DFK International committees: Women in Leadership and Tax, reinforcing her strong international links on cross-border transactions. She’s a member of Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Enterprise Investment Scheme Association (EISA).
Emma’s expertise was recognised across the accounting & tax industry when she became a Rising Star finalist in the Tolley’s Taxation Awards 2019. In the same year she became a partner at Wilson Wright, who joined with BKL in 2024 to become our City of London office.
Since 2024, Emma has been ranked in Chambers’ prestigious High Net Worth Guide.
